Good read. I'm surprised they didn't have the suspension ecu go out on them.

I am getting rid of mine. I have to full termi with ECU on it. I am just not 100% what bike should be priced at. Oh and I am at 17K on the clock.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

ahhh...

They didn't choose to publish the letter I sent them detailing the numerous breakdowns, recalls and warranty issues I had. The months spent in the shop waiting for parts "that should be in any day now", fork seals that wouldn't last more than a couple of months, a steering lock that was more possessed than Linda Blair spitting pea soup everywhere... meh

When my 1200s was running, it was fantastic... Unfortunately, I got one built on a Friday after a long lunch. I know some who have had and loved their strada with no issues at all, but mine was another story.

Haven't had one lick of trouble w/ my Ape... Now that, I like!

Yeah the 1200 has been a love and hate affair. I must say I've had it good compared to some but had it not so good compared to most. Now that it's out of warranty I'm seriously thinking about trading it in. Already warmed up the lady to the idea of the new KTM. The messed up part is, I have done so many little things to it that I'm hesitant to let it go. And it's a screamer when it's working well...

If you trade it in on a KTM Gem, that means you will be wearing orange in the suite next year... Orange... LOL

In all seriousness though, ALL manufacturers have these issues where one bike is just glitchy. Does that make up for it? Nope.. It does happen to all of them though. Hell Toyota is supposed to be the reliability car king and how many cars have they recalled over the years? We have been pretty fortunate that we really have not run into many issues with the ones we take care of.. a few small things here and there, but all in all a good platform.

Honestly if I knew nothing SCU related was going to go wrong in the next couple years I'd keep it in a heart beat. It's the best bike I have ever owned in terms of being able to do everything and have heard the same from many others that own it.
