What should I do to my 749, opinions anyone? - August 12, 2006, 11:16 PM

Okay I want to do something a little different with my 749. I really like the Matrix green paint used on the 998 and 996 Matrix movie edition superbikes. I know that there were no Ducs used in The Matrix Revolutions but I am thinking about having my bike painted the same color green with the " The Matrix Revolutions" logo painted on the tail like the 998 Matrix Reloaded bike. I would also switch out my windscreen to a black Puig (for effect) and use some Duc decals similar to the 998's.

The other choices is doing about 80% of the bike in carbon fiber. Nose, R/L fairings, DP CF Tail, DP CF Rear heel guard and an Airblade screen that lets me keep my parking light. The black parts would be the tank, mirrors, and wings on the fairings.

Be interested in any thoughts and or opinions on this....

Before you do anything with it, just give it to me as is.

I think your ideas are good. However with the dark color of that bike, a smoked windscreen might take away from the lines. I think they used clear one with black piping so it would stand out more.

Good Luck

Leave it matte black and if you need to patch something up... patch it with matte black.

Just a thought, keep the original color and see if they can get that Matrix color mixed with a pearl clear... ??? You would still see the black but at angles...?

I don't get it... people spend $$$$$$ on a machine.. then turn around and de-value it by spending more $$$$$$$$$$$$ in hopes of somehow wringing out a sense of self-preservation

As metro as they are and as much as I know how bad I would look on one, keep it stock!

Aight well stocks not what I want so I am doing about 90% of it in CF and putting the stock fairings in the attic. I dont want a bike that is 2 million different colors and the green thing was put out of my mind by a couple close friends. Carbon fiber will look great and will be cheaper to replace if I ever have another unfortunate event. The 749 Darks are plentiful (to me) its kind of fun having something a little different. The reason I bought a Dark in the first place is because as far as Duc SBK's go it was more affordable and realistically easier to alter than a 999 or 749 R. I would never do this bike as a Breil Replica because I think its too much with all the decals. I am anal as hell so if its not right looking I wont do it and if it looks bad when I am done I will put it back to stock. I will post up pics after I get everthing in and installed.

C.
