Where to find a used Duc in the area? - February 7, 2008, 10:00 PM

First, I love my TL1000.

I've had a blast building it into what it is now. I love riding it...

But its going be put up forsale this summer. I decided my next bike is going to be a Ducati. Yeah so I work at a 4 line Jap dealership and I'm looking for an Italian bike, doesn't make a lot of sense. I think I just need to get it out of my system...

Looking for a 748/916/996. I am in my beginning stages of my research ect. I was just curious where the best places to find used Ducati are?

Thank you

check with donnie unger out here at duc pond motorsports in winchester. he is first rate and one of the longest running duc performance / race shops around. he picked up the franchise a year or so ago. ask around about him and i bet youll find a lot more positive than negative about him.

I found my 998 on craigslist. There always seems to be a few 748/916/996 for sale in the DC area.

Stillie I saw that 748 on CL and thats kinda what had me going on the Ducati idea to be honest with you.

I have wanted a 916 since before I could drive a car. There are so many reasons, mainly I just thing they are beautiful rolling works of art!

Right now I am just stacking my chips, I will be finishing with a few details on my TL and trying to decide a good asking price for it.

I will defiantly check with Donnie out in Winchester. He does have a 916, "just converted track bike with only 4700 miles"
There might be a story, I'll have to look into that....

Being quite handy with the tool, I don't mind something that may need some work or isn't in the best shape right now. I'll polish up an ugly Duc'ling.

Speed's Cycle up in Md is great to deal with. I bought my Hypermotard from them and they gave me a crazy deal on it.

They do have used bikes and seem to be very down to earth. I had cash in hand and out of all the Ducati dealerships were the most upfront and friendly.

Of course, at the time not many dealerships even had units allocated but they were great to deal with. Coleman's actually gave me a great deal however, I was impatient and wanted the bike right then instead of waiting a couple of months to buy a demo
If you talk to Coleman's ask for Ben....very cool guy to deal with.
