2007 zx6r FI light NOT on? (No servo buddy) - July 9, 2011, 12:33 PM

Hey folks!
I just got a 2007 ZX6r for the track. It has a Yoshi slip on and a Power Commander 5. The exhaust servo has been removed. I verified by looking at the wiring diagram that the plugs I thought are for it are indeed for the servo and not connected to anything (resistors, servo buddy, etc). I expected to see a "FI" code, but there isn't. I have 2 questions:
1) Does it sometimes not pop up until you ride for a bit? I have not really ridden it for long, just in my 'hood
2) Does the PC5 circumvent the error code?

Thanks in advance!

COngrats on the track bike

The FI light should be on without a servo buddy .. my 636 also did not show a code due to the servo motor issue .. it didn't have any issues while riding though

Thanks, man! I'm looking forward to getting it on the track (redeeming myself at VIR is more like it). I plan on flogging it a little on a back road to see if it will come on. I might just get the Servo Buddy anyway if it does. Compared to the suspension work I plan on doing and repairing the big Kawi, it is a drop in the bucket I just was not sure how different the ins & outs are on this bike compared to the 10r.

Some pipe manufactures have you pull a wire from the ECM connection to prevent an FI light when removing the servo motor.

Ah ha! I found that it doesn't always read immediately. I took her for a spin and got the revs up to 10k a few times. It finally did come on.
I'll search around to see if there is a "wire pull" mod for this bike. Thanks for the info!

Servo buddy will fix it. Quick and easy install.
