Can't say the Versys was (ever) on my radar, but I'm actually kind of digging this slightly updated version. Looks like the 650 might be a good option to consider for an all-around bike, that could also handle day in and day out commuting duties.

I didn't mind the oddball look of the Versys but the seat height was a little challenging for me when i sat on one. This new one looks pretty FZ-ish from those angles. I like it.

I think this will probably have more general appeal but, as an owner of a first gen, I will miss the odd look of the original. It's not a distinctive looking bike at all any more. I also wish the NC700/750 had some kind of an impact on bikes in this class. 50mpg is ok but I'd like to do better...
