Buckshot's Z, latest mods... - July 16, 2007, 08:51 PM

Well i finally took some new pictures of my z1000 here the other day. The mod list is small, but it definitely was a step in the right direction.

I went ahead and ordered the flushmount front blinkers from Extreme Graphics from Canada. The color match is not exact, but it was close enough. I got them cheaper by ordering them on Ebay. Took a while to figure them out (no instructions) and for some reason they didn't work right until i rotated the bulb, go figure. But they are good to go now. I mounted them, and then I ordered a Zero Gravity tall windscreen. It is nice, and extends like 4 or 5 inches beyond the stock. really helps out on the highways. I don't swap it out like i have heard others do. A picture of all of these mods can be seen on the front1.jpg.

I ordered the clear alternatives rear light, so i could get rid of the fender and blinkers. definitely a nice add. must say though, the clear alternatives is smaller than the stock, so there is a bit of a gap there. I didn't order a fender eliminator, since down the road i'm going to buy the ixil underseat exhaust, so i rigged up my own set up. I went ahead and bought a couple of L brackets, some bolts and washers. Then i mounted some of the original brackets back on, added the L brackets, and there you have it, a license plate mounted. I have had no negative response from cops. I got rid of the light for now too. You can see these mods on the back-a.jpg and tail-a.jpg. The back jpg shows it from the back on, so you can see the clear really well, and my license plate (also my metzeler m3's, haha). The tail gives you a bit of a close up at my rigging on the license plate. Cost me like 3 bucks, and thats with buying extra brackets.

I also added the framesliders, which you can see on the side1-a.jpg.

I know they aren't big mods, or anything to the extent that Nudist pulls off, but I think they really helped the look of my z out. I'm dying to save up money for the exhaust, and i think that will make it even tighter than it is.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Thanks. I am really trying to clean up the lines a bit. I was so happy to get rid of the fender. I think the line of the tail is a really nice one, and wanted to show case it.

It's not like you will ever need to see who/what is behind you.

Do you buy a condom to look at it? No you buy it to fuck.

Yeah, i have been meaning to. This Thursday, i should definitely be there. My girl got a bike a little while ago, so she will want to be there with her sv650 i'm sure.

So unless something comes up, i'll be there.

Smaller mirrors: I don't know if i will just yet. I'm not really that bothered by them for right now, and they have definitely helped me spot the Leo's. So we'll see.

Tag: Yeah, i have been a little concerned that they will say something about that. As of yet, i have had a decent number behind me, and not one has said anything. A friend of mine has his way down under his tail, you actually can't see it when he is riding, and a cop told him he can't see it, but let him go.

The next goal is the ixil and the power commander. though i'm going to have to save up some serious dough for the both of those (i think its a little over $1k for all of it). So while i'm saving up for those items, I'm going to be doing some wrenching on my girls bike. She wants to clean hers up to a bit.

Thanks for the responses, nice to see some loving for the Z.
