Parked 2008 ZX10 Knocked Over - November 28, 2012, 09:07 AM

Some asshat knocked over a parked ZX10R (2008?!?) at 12th and NY Ave. A homeless guy told me about it because he thought it might be mine since he sees me with my helmet every morning.

Looks like it was only cosmetic damage and the mirror snapped off. If it is your bike I took some pics before picking it up (just in case you might want them). Not sure what good the pics will do but I would want to know especially if my bike was not exactly how I left it. ;(

You shouldn't have picked it up. You should've let him take his own pics for the insurance.

Probably. Just felt bad about leaving his shit laying on its side all day. I left a note also.

Just so we're clear...

You backed into a ZX-10.
Took some pictures.
Picked it up.
Left a note.
and said a homeless man saw someone else do it.

Gotcha! Well played sir.

i think now days the rule of thumb is if it's not yours and you had nothing to do with it, leave it alone. you may be a good samaritan but you don't know anything about the person who you think you are trying to help. they may get the wrong idea or go ape shit on your ass.

Props to you for doing the right thing. It's a shame the US has become a place where it's common for folks to think the right thing to do is to do nothing.

I think the homeless guy knocked it over and told you hoping you'd feel bad for him being such a nice guy and give him some money.

If someone knocked my bike over, I'd want him/someone to atleast pick it back up.
