I know stock size is a 190. HAs anyone put a 180 on their ZX-9? It says it turns easier. Pro's? cons?

Im probably going to the track next year. I usually like to have a new set of tires for the track. I replaced both of them last year. The front looks good but the back definitely needs replacing.

I used to run a 180 on my hayabusa. Loved it. Cheaper tire, lower RPMs on the highway. Seems to lean and transition easier too. Can't lean as far....but if you are riding correctly on the street...shouldn't be an issue.

Don't racers use 180s on their bikes?

James...the 180 works better. Turns in faster, better profile for traction and slides nicer. The 190 just LOOKS better. Dunlop now has a 190 208 GP that's really a 186 that they use for competition. Actually, it's only used on the 600's since no DOT tires can be used in any other class.
