Aye, what is everyubody getting for a top speed outta there Ninjas? List speed and year/size. I have a 2000 9R..I've only gotten up to 135 on mine..it may be embarrassing, but I weigh 285lbs, so it may be justified

Post up!

EDIT: 2000 ZX6R, around 6,000 miles (9,000 now).

150 on the speedo. So probably like 140 on the tires.

Probably never do that again. Would have liked to have had a video of that shit though.

03 ZX-6R 636 - only 3500 miles

on the track I have my speedo taped up but I can see the RPMs

at summit main, coming down the front straight I usually redline 4th then 5th and get to about 13K in 6th before having to brake (really hard) for T1, so I imagine Im getting upwards towards 155-160mph.

I don't own one anymore, but I raced a ZX6 E for a few years. With stock gearing, I saw 153 mph, but that's prob only 145 or so, which is pretty strong for that bike I think.

Gotta clear something up though... Rider weight is insignificant as a factor that affects top speed. Terminal velocity is all about wind resistance and horsepower. Though a heavy rider may significantly affect acceleration, the difference in gross vehicle weight between 650 and 750 lbs has almost no effect on your top speed.

In fact, a larger rider's drag coefficient will likely affect a bike's top speed far more than the rider's weight. You can go almost as fast with a small passenger as you can without one. Trust me.

Bike week, going from Daytona to Orlando on Rt4 late at night with 20 other bikes. Speedo read 171-173mph on a stock 00 ZX-9R, but I have a 15thooth drive sprocket.

Whatever that is in real life but it was plenty scary not to be repeated ever again.

..are y'all f*ckin around with me?..I'm serious man!

I need to know, cuz I was on 50 the other day doing about 130, and my bike seemed like it was struggling to maintain that speed..like I needed another gear or something.

Something is wrong with your bike.
I can get to around 120 on the back wheel.
