ZX6R: Fuel pump problems? - July 16, 2008, 08:42 AM

I was wondering if anyone is having fuel pump problems on their 07-08s?

Been having some issues sometimes in the morning where I have to crank the throttle (even after letting it warm up for a couple of mins) before I take off, otherwise it wants to stall out. The past week I've been sick and unable to ride, but this morning when I tried to start it up, it took me pumping the throttle before I tried starting and holding it open half way while cranking it before it would start.

I have a feeling it's the fuel pump, because I know the 650Rs have issues with some of theirs.

Any thoughts?

I have an 07 zzr600 that had a bad fuel pump a 485miles on the odometer. Covered under warranty but I was one of a couple hundred bad pumps out of thousands made. Felt like I was running outta gas...finely got it started and it sounded like a harley.
