Unhappy '96 bandit 600S Speedometer - April 6, 2013, 07:50 PM

I have a '96 bandit 600S and my speedometer/odometer doesn't work.

Let me clear that up a bit.
The tach works and all the lights work, but it won't tell me my speed and neither of the mile counters are rolling. I unscrewed my speedometer cable from the speedo and rolled my bike, but the inside cable doesn't spin at all. Does it sound like i just need a cable? or could it be the box assembly on the front wheel?

Thanks for the help in advance

I just took the cable off completely and pulled both ends out in separate directions. It was severed about six inches from the bottom connection.

Thanks for the help though.

The guy who sold me the bike sells parts online so he's gonna check if he has one in stock and hook me up. SWEET!
