Looking for an Sv650 no older than 2005 - May 29, 2007, 10:53 AM

Hello,

I thought this would be the best/fastest way to get leads on a bike. I'm thinking of upgrading... I'm concidering tha sv650, I should have some change saved up by August.

Please PM me with ideas of where to look, things to look out for, dealers with good prices, or independents looking to offload one.

Thank you,

Beatriz

The "S" version has lower bars (more leaned over) called clip-ons. It also has a half fairing with a larger windscreen, twin headlights and different mirrors compared to the "Non S" version. The riding postion on the SV (non S) is much more of a standard while the SVS is a bit more agressive/Super Sport race type postion. Seeing the pictures if the best ways to illustrate the differences.

SVS ~ notice the "clip-on" bars, half fairing, mirrors and headlight

SV ~ Notice the more tradtional handle bars, fly screen, round single headlight and mirrors mounted on the bars.

SVS ~ Closer shot for you to compared the differences

Let me know if you're going to head out to check out any of these in the NOVA area, I'd actually like to pick up a SV maybe next year and make it into a street fighter. Also before you buy talk to Nate here on the boards, he really knows his stuff, espeically on the SV.

Here's a SV (non S) in Manassas I saw on craig's list

Okay I checked out that Craigs listing (2005 Suzuki SV650 - $4899) This price seems much more reasonable. right? 3400 miles.

Check kbb.com for the suggested value and whatnot.

I know where an 02 is for $2500. It's been beat up a bit and needs a little love but I'm sure it would make a great bike. I would start the bidding at 2k and go from there.

I will PM you the email addy.

Kelly Blue Book is saying it's $4150

NADA is saying average retail is $4,760 and low would be $3,550

It's a clean looking bike with low miles but it is 2 almost 3 (come Sept-Oct) model years old. I'd say his asking price is high, something closer to 4K maybe $4,300 not really sure. Hopefully Nate will come back and gives his input.

Cause that's my bike and I just posted it. Also, me and B have been talking, but she wants the stand up bars, so mine's a no-go.

Good post Whisper, hadn't seen it. Just goes to show the 05 SV in blue she posted it listed high, since the SVS has mods and is an "S" model. Actually I think she was looking for a "non S". I dunno

Lot's to answer...I'm looking for the non s, because of the stanard bars...but If I can find an s for a good price...I might just suck it up.

As for '05 I want this to be my "for a long time" bike and I don't know how to fix old bikes, nor do I want to depend on someone to fix my bike everytime I want to go out.

Also...Ant the blue was an 03...so it was listed SUPER HIGH.

I think that's all...I have been looking in craigs, ebay, in the different threads of the forum too. PM me if you see something interesting though.

Thanks for all your help guys.
