New mod's to my 2006 SV650s - May 22, 2006, 05:03 PM

So I got a blue 2006 Suzuki SV650s from Whitt's Suzuki in Manassas with 4 miles on it back on April 28, 2006, I love this bike! After doing a little research and talking to people on the forum I picked out the mod's for my bike. I bought the OEM, color matched, lower fairing from www.oneidasuzuki.com (Thanks Yan, if thats how he spells his name) and decided to go with the Hotbodies flush mount LED front turn signals and rear integrated LED tail light with matching LED tag light and bracket from www.fendereliminators.net. Both companies are awesome, quick shipment and good quality products. So I decided to take this past Saturday, May 20, and put on all these mods. I had no idea how to take apart the bike and I couldn't find anyone who new how to do it. After back and forth trips to Lowe's to get some tools needed and striping one nut under the seat in the process (had to drill it out and retap a new hole with a new screw with the help of my Dad and my friend) I finally got the rear section of the bike off. I have no idea why Suzuki didn't make all the bolts both hex-metric and screw enabled like some of the bolts because the one I stripped was a screw that was torqued on too much. It was nice to have me and my friend, an ex-Marine helicopter mechanic, assemble the rear integrated tail light while my Dad, an electrical engineer, put in the two LED flush mount LED turn signals. After we completed the light part of the bike mod's, which looks awesome, my friend and I installed the lower fairing on the bike which was fairly easy with the Suzuki instructions provided assuming you have all the correct tools. The turnout is absolutely awesome, its looks awesome! The bike looks so much more streamline with smooth lines and no appentures (goodbye bug-eye front turn signals and rear tail!!!). So here are the pics:

Next mod is to get the Holeshot Highmount black powercoated slipon after I break in the bike and that will complete my mod's for now since this getting expensive!

Linky no worky.

Both of you should get the rear cowl. Especially the chica, since very seldom will someone be on back. Oh and dark double bubble windshield.

Same happened to me with the bolt under the seat. Stripped, and searching for 'easy-outs' but the AAP by my house didn't have them in stock. I have the OEM license bracket, and I'll post up picks when I get em installed.

Grassy Ass.

is that really an 06? That looks more like my '05 blue. I always thought the 06 blue was more like teal/diareha color. But I guess in the right light its not bad at all.

your blue doesn't look like this "blue"

Yeah I love my SVs... I have the 05, with the full fairings and also a Yoshimura exhaust... the exhaust makes a huge difference in the look/sound/performance of your bike... my top speed increased by 20mph!! It accelerates a lot quicker too!

Yeah, I agree, the blue in the picture on the Suzuki website is not even close. I think that they messed up on the color on the website. The color of the bike is definently blue not teal.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! Appreciate it. Yeah the next mod's are the Holeshot high mount exhaust and most likely the rear cowl from www.oneidasuzuki.com for the passenger seat when I get the money, haha, damn mods. I most likely will get the rear cowl soon since it is not that much.
Chris

Where is the seat cowl on that website?

By the way, nice mods. I have the fairings for my bike, they're just sitting in my basement for the moment. Can't wait for my bike to look like that!

What rear cowl? Are you talking about the rear color matched seat cover from Oneida Suzuki? Let us know.
