Trade Yamaha for GSXR600 - May 9, 2008, 10:14 PM

Ok, so heres the deal.
I have a 07 Yamaha R6, with 1,7xx miles on it. + the extended warranty.
I owe about 11grand for it.

I talked to my dealer up here in woodbridge, Va and the sales manager said they would cut me a check for my bike and what ever the difference is they would put that on top of the price for a GSXR600

So How much should I be asking for the 08 gsxr600??

Please help thanks

Why would you do that? All you're doing is adding to your debt and making yourself pay WAY more for a bike than you need to be. Keep the R6 and work on paying off your debt...

Wouldn't that have been a good characteristic to note before you bought the bike?

I figure the dealer will give you what? 6k or 7k for the R6? So that's 4k left that you still owe... now say you get an 08 gixxer OTD for $8500, that gets you to $12,500 for a 600cc motorcycle that ends up being worth far less the second the tires touch pavement.

Save money to pay down the bike enough and sell it yourself, you're just raping yourself the way you're trying to do it now.

Just trying to save you the headaches, not to mention the pricetag you're getting yourself into...

Yeah, i figured i would just see what they give me. I know im gonna spend more than what most people would want too. But i willing to spend alittle more on something that makes me happy.

I dont even ride the r6 anymore. I ride my gf gsxr all the time. but she just got her MC permit and now she want to ride more than sit on the back lol.

Sell it outright, buy what you want.

Sell it outright, take a smaller loss, then buy something else USED.
What you're planning is financially stupid.

y not lower the r6 now... it's CHEAP.. learn to ride it.. get used to it.. then whenever ur ready raise it back up...

how tall are u?.. do ur toes reach the ground?.. i know tons of girls who have "tall bikes" and they just deal with it... lean to one side at a light or lower it SLIGHTLY

Big +1 consider what would happen if you wrecked the bike, the insurance will give you the estimated blue book value at best so you would be upside down paying for a bike you don't even own/ride anymore.

The 07 R6 is a very sought after bike so selling it shouldn't be a problem especially now that riding season is kicking into full swing.

Good luck!

OK , so here is what your spending 11,000 on.
07 R6 33.5
08 GSXR 600 31.9
So when u subtract those to seat hieght numbers u get 1.6 inchs.
11,000 g's for 1.6'' dam u most b loaded .
I would keep the R6 and lower it 1.6 inchs, theres your gsxr ride hieght, with out spending all that loot , and the r6 is a better bike in my opinion, even though i ride gsxr on the street , i race a r6 .
