2011 Triumph Speed Triple - October 5, 2010, 07:16 AM

The 2011 Triumph Speed Triple will get its official unveiling today, but before that it leaked overnight on Hell for Leather, who have been closely following Triumph’s new models and leaking campaigns. The new Speed Triple, as already mentioned, drops its bug-eyed look. It’s probably going to be a hate it or love it thing for Triumph fans, but overall we think the new headlights work and the Speed Triple is looking mightily aggressive, ready for street fightin’ action.

On the technical front, the bike gets ABS we should be a popular addition for those using it for everyday commuting, and a new aluminum chassis which reduces the weight by about 2 kg. We also get a slight power and torque increase of 7 hp and 8 Nm on the 1050cc engine. Many were hoping to see a 1200cc engine and the Speed Triple is still hefty compared to its competitors, so there’s knowing at this stage how the market will react to the new model.

I like it but I've always liked that bike. Pretty sure they could slap a Speed Triple logo on a turd and I'd like it.

I wasn't a fan of the old double rounds and bikini fairing, but this is what I think of the new ones:

Shit, I put two P's in triple

that's great triumph.

remove the features that made the bike an icon, but don't enhance its performance significantly.

and where the eff is my 1050 or 1125 daytona?

must be taking lessons from GM

Changing the lights on a speed triple is like putting Keira Knightley in a Russ Meyer film.

It looks like they left the headlight and fairing design to some inept fellow at Kawi...

Headlights should be pretty simple to change though.

I'd love to test ride one of these triples Triumph seems to be doing quite well with these past few years. Still haven't gotten a chance though.

Just saw this post now. I do love the S3, including this new one.

But did they ask Pixar to design the headlights?
