Anybody know why my jacket is not selling? - October 28, 2013, 03:30 PM

Trying to unload my genuine Alpinestars Triumph jacket size 46, and not sure why its not selling for $200 which is a stellar price.

Anyone have any advice or know anyone with a Triumph that could use this?

Thanks for the help.

_______________

Ended up selling it.

Thanks

try selling it back to the dealership if it's in better than good condition?

For allot of people this season is over that take out about 60 percent of the potential buyers

then you add in fact that the triumph jacket my guess is it takes out another 85 percent of potential buyers

that leaves you with about 6 percent of all potential buyers left

then you add in that it's just one size and now you've cut your potential buyers down again.

add in the fact that close to winter most retailers are having good pricing is well

and yes I made all of the numbers up but just giving an example

your ad says it came with your purchase of the bike (reads as if it was free with purchase of bike.) how are you taking a big loss?

that could be another reason as well. Some buyers tend to shy away from sellers who stand to make 100% profit without putting some kind of work in or spending money on said item.

but everything DJ mentioned is quite viable as well.

If the dealer even entertains the offer - try to spin a trade or a trade plus cash for something you could use. They definitely will re-list the jacket as "lightly used" or "like new" and eventually sell it for $350+ or even include in the next sale of a new bike as they did for you. I saw trade plus cash because the value of your jacket going into the dealer is much less than you may like to think.

It's very square-cut; the shoulders are no wider than the waist, and the jacket is a little short. It would look good on Ray Winstone, that sexy beast...

Well it did not come free with the purchase of the bike. It was offered to me at a discount since I was already purchasing it, and I felt like I could at least make my money back on a nice jacket, but that ship has sailed. It was factored into the price of the bike, so yes, I am taking a loss on it!

Few places online have it for 329

Even if it was 550, however, it's used apparel. The bottom line is, people don't pay much for used apparel. This is why people have trouble selling 500 dollar suit jackets for more than 100 bucks or so.

If you want to get "what it's worth," you won't. Just keep it.
