New Triumph Rider!!! - July 4, 2011, 08:35 AM

Hey guys,

After selling my 600rr last year and being bikeless for the entire spring season, I decided I wanted to try something else. A buddy of my was ranting about his street triple and after reading about the new speed triple I decided to take a chance with Triumph. I absolutely love this bike.

I'm still getting used to the color choice, but I'll probably repaint the plastics in the future (something darker). I never really had an opinion about the headlights so the new design doesn't bother me so much. It's nice to have something different than the bajillion jap bikes rolling around. I still would like to eventually get into track days next year, which I'll probably pick up a cheap 600cc bike for.

Congrats! You get the ABS or non-ABS model?

Just put R&G sliders and case covers on mine a couple days ago.. Highly recommended. Slightly cheaper to buy from R&G over in England and have them ship it to you- got to me in less than a week.

Oh yeah- and Triumph is retarted recommending 42psi in the rear tire... Try low 30s, you'll be much happier.

I approve of the color. I am very partial to red motorcycles. I saw the speed triple that was red w/ a white stripe. That was pretty hot too.

Sweet bike. I love my 2006 Speed Triple, and I'm sure that I'd like the 2011 even more. I have no issues with the new headlights. Look fine to me.

Enjoy the new ride!

I got the non-ABS model. I really wanted a white one, but this one was in the showroom and caught my eye. I'll try lowering the tire pressure. I remember reading about that on some forum. Speaking of...what are the good triumph forums out there?

There is only ONE Triumph forum worth it's postings... TriumphRat.Net

It seems to be more of a "mature" crowd and a lot less ummm facking-around in it but it is a good source for all things and all models Triumph

I have the non-ABS one as well

As mentioned, triumphrat is a decent site with a good amount of info, but the mods there are a bit Nazi-ish... And this site is for all triumphs, they have a speed triple section, but there is only one board for it so posts get lost easily...

Login is another. Pretty much the polar opposite of triumphrat, lots of fucking around, but there's also a ton of info there, and I like the way the forum is divided more into customization, tuning, years, etc so it's easier to find what you're looking for.

In addition to the triumphrat site, you can go to Login. I still prefer triumphrat, but you can find some Speed Triple specific questions and answers at the triple site.

EDIT: Sorry, Drz covered this one post up. I was thrown off when I saw "Login" as the listed website.
