Now that I've ordered this - December 4, 2012, 08:51 AM

for the 2010 Bonneville.

So I ordered bar end mirrors from Moto-Elite - 99 for the pair
Moto-Elite — Moto-Elite Folding Bar End Mirrors

and bar end adapters they should attach to (adapters are at the bottom of the page)
Bar End Mirrors for the New Triumph Bonneville

and now that I've given them my money it occurs to me to ask if anyone here has experience with these and will this work as expected? Just remove the current mirrors/bar ends and screw the new ones on?

Yeah, I know I should have asked before I bought but if I don't open the package it's not too late.

it's a pretty simple process. Bar ends' visibility isn't great, but if you're doing proper head checks it shouldn't be a huge concern.

Those will probably look real nice on a bonnie. Post pics when you're done

Edit: I didn't scroll all the way down on the adapter page.

Yes, those will bolt on the your stock bars and the mirrors to the adapter.
This set up will work.

I'm looking forward to getting something for the bike that doesn't surprise me with a "Oh, and you're gonna need to get a (insert name of obscure item that has to be ordered from the other side of the world and it's on back order anyway) too." Just open the package, get a tool and install it.

Oh, and take a picture for Fitz.

I likey bar end mirrors lots. Better than the stalks in every aspect IMO. No elbows blocking your view, gives the bonk a cool lower profile stance, etc.

Post up a pic of the whole bike lady!

And they fold in for filtering. Now I just gotta figure out how to keep them from folding on their own during those sudden accelerations.

For the full pix I gotta find a time when the sun is up, I'm not working, not riding one of them . . . soon

That or next time the band is playing up this way I'll ride the Bonnie.

Some of em i've seen have adjustable tension on the screws wheree they fold. If not, i'm sure you could rig em up somehow, maybe install a spring in there or something

yeah, that happens... you can try tightening down the screw on the hinge a bit, but the hinge ball is teflon, so that won't stop it (at least it was like that on the ones I had.. they would fold in at anything above 90ish. Meh, easy to push back into place once I slowed down)

Just goes to show you've got to try stuff out for yourself to see what works for you. I hated bar end mirrors, particularly for commuting/riding in traffic. They require a lot more head movement (you've got to look down to see into them) and took away my ability to do a quick mirror check. I used them for a few thousand miles and then sold them.

I was able to force myself to stop riding long enough to take these today.

Cell phone pix quality isn't much and the light wasn't great but there it is.

Yes, everything was in the box and the install took less than 10 minutes.
