Review: Daytona 675 Gel Seat - May 14, 2007, 10:08 AM

Triumph makes a gel seat specific to the Daytona 675. I think I was overcharged ($111 after %15 discount from my dealer - but I think it's only a $90 seat directly from Triumph) but the seat is a pleasure! The ride down to the dealer is about an hour. I had a passenger. The boys weren't pleased. Because of how you arch your back/hips to take pressure off your wrists, it really puts the pressure on your groin using the stock seat.

The Gel seat seems to be flatter with less incline. This helps with the natural slide forward and reduces pressure. You can't really call it soft, but it's SO much softer in comparison. Before I'd get off and my butt would really hurt. This time, I was tired, but my butt wasn't sore. The ladz were so much happier too. It seems to make it easier to keep good posture/keep pressure off the wrists to boot. It's the only "mod" I've done and I'd say it's awesome. Is there a better seat out there in the corbin or the Srgt or a modified stocker? I don't know. I have this one and it has my full endorsement.

Anyone think I should go back to the dealer and try to get the $25?

*update* Yes I found out about the seat being $120 directly from Triumph.

The seat is actually about $120 suggested retail. Check the Triumph USA website. The Etriumphstore lists it at $107, then shipping adds anothr $9 to the total. You got a great price on it.

A great price? I think I got a "reasonable" price. Anyone can get it. They charged me $130 and gave me %15 off for buying a bike. Even though it's not a real bargain, it's worth it.

The gel seat isn't like sitting on your couch, but it definitely is better than the stock seat.

It is the genuine triumph 675 gel seat. I haven't spent but 1.5 hr in it and my ass started to ache. The stock seat i was good for a couple hrs.

That can't be right. It doesn't have the pressure points the stock seat creates. However, I've still got my stock seat (only a few hours of time on it) want to trade so we have spares?
