I just got back from picking up an engine for a ZX6-R and the guy bought two of these bikes, wrecked, from an insurance auction house, he bought two wrecked, and made one perfect triumph!!

Love to see that bike with a smaller tank. Either way, I expect to pimp it for a day or two. Date night galore.

I was thinking the same thing. I spent some time looking at pics last night and there is alot that can be done to really make that bike sweet.

smaller tank
drag bars
remove turn signal stalks
diff bar end mirrors
wrap or paint and change up the ugly exhaust
remove front fender

The only other thing that bugs me about the bike is the big gap between the rear fender and the tire but that can be fixed with a Saw

I'm not a fan of red but when it's on a frame I kinda like it.

It's a beautiful bike. I was thinking about getting a Thruxton, but for me personally, I'd only buy a 2008 or older model. The 2009 and newer models have fuel injection (to pass Euro emissions) and bar risers. To me, a true cafe racer should have carbs and clip-ons like the '08's and older did.

I hate carbs!! things need to progress at time while still remaining close to their heritage. I think this bike has done that with its style and they have done a good job a hiding the fuel injectors inside of throttle bodies that look like carbs. I really like this bike and am think of going and taking a closer look at one. I would probably not buy a special addition just cause I am going to cut it up anyway.
