Flywheel, Stator removal - September 8, 2007, 02:53 PM

I have looked allover, and have heard of many different ways of doing this on the Yam R1. So far I have done it once, and worked out well, using a flywheel puller/holder combo. Being a at-home-with-no-real-garage-or-tools kinda guy, I always research the best ways for cheap

So, I burned out another stator, it was used when I put that one in and said no problems. I have the new one, and another flywheel just in case too. Here's my question, has anyone ever cut off a flywheel, and howd ya do it? I have the Dremel tool, been a godsend for years, but wanted DCSBN opinion first. I know it can be done, but not sure wear to begin. R1-Forum had some people do it, but havent heard back from the pm's I sent.

Cut off a fly wheel from the crank? Also the assy will need to be balanced!
