GYTR Shorty pipe - 03-05 R6 or 06+ R6S - November 23, 2008, 11:51 AM

Just curious if anyone has installed a GYTR shorty pipe on their '03-05 R6 or 06+ R6S.

Question for you on how you might have secured the pipe - if you had to get a custom mount to secure the pipe to either the rearset or what.

I have one and have an idea of what I will do, but figured I ask anyhow. Searched the r6-forums as well.

Debating on using it anyhow - might just wait and pick up a yosh or MIVV slip-on.

thanks!

Yea I like the MIVV, just debating on purchasing it right now and all. Figure would sport the GYTR for a little bit before I break down and buy the MIVV.

going back and forth between CF or Titanium

You can't make a bracket for the rear set...the header will move when you sit on the bike and it will bend the exhaust and/or header

I did the short exhaust converstion on my 03 with an 07 exhaust and just make sure you cut slits in the header and clamp the can around the exhaust really well with a torque wrench and it'll hold just fine

Yea I see that now. Was messing with it late late last night and yea..

- not gonna be an issue anyhow as I broke down and have a MIVV slip-on shipping. Still might just slap the GYTR on until the MIVV gets here though.

thanks!

I really should be messing with the SV not the R6S my lazy ass needs to slap my GSXR front end on
