headlight halos

headlight halos - May 4, 2009, 08:45 PM

Does anyone have halos on their headlights? I was thinking about putting them in so my HID's werent on all the time but still had some sort of light.

Opinions?

lol mine don't blind people..unless the highbeams are on.

I was just thinking of putting some other kinda light so there were some light for the daytime but didn't want to use my HID's. not sure how long the bulbs last.

They are LEDs so they will last a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG time.

I thought halos were a bit rice till I saw this pic on another message board I am on. Kind of changed my mind a bit. looks mean.

I was taking a serious look at halos at one point. Then I saw what it took to install them...screw that noise... If I could find someone who would install them for cheap I'd still be interested in them, but I would want to put myself, or any of my buddies through that kind of hassle to install them currently.

..they are still pretty bad-ass regardless.

They aren't really that bad to install (well on my bike), just have to open the headlight back up. can't be no harder than the projectors

HIDs should last for a number of years...i think they have a 10,000 hour lamp life. Problem is turning them on and off puts wear on them more than just keeping them on all the time, so it should be a little less than that.

for your bike it's probably easier...lucky... for mine, cracking open the headlight housing which is sealed with this industrial adhesive, is the beginning of meticulous work that I'd rather avoid. I've seen people put their housing in their kitchen ovens to loosen the adhesive and such... then to reseal it is another job... call me lazy. hahaha!

I may just get another set of bulbs and be done with it. I just figured i should but some in while i had the headlights apart again. But now i dont really know if i want them.
