I kinda like the naked model, when they showed them riding it through that corner, was it just me or did it sound kinda weird/weak?!?!

Okay, I really hate to ask this but what does it mean when they say 'de-tuned'? I mean, I get the gist of it but what exactly has been done to the engine? It's driving me nuts...

Quote:
MCN has just returned from testing the new Yamaha XJ6 Diversion and naked XJ6 in Australia.

The two new models both feature the same de-tuned inline-four engine from the Yamaha R6.

The faired, XJ6 Diversion is smooth and easy-to-use - aimed more at commuters and novices alike.

The naked XJ6 is a completely different animal. With the fairing removed the XJ6 weighs 6kg less which makes it feel more manic and more agile.

different compression for better gas mileage and a little less horspower redline is a little different.

I had an FZ6 its a great bike.

Yes the stock exhaust sounds like crap, but throw some scorpion slip ons on it, its completly different.

I did not like the suspenion and the lack of adjustment. Its good for an average rider, but once you start pushing it you will notice the flaws, and start having dreams of ohlins shocks and forks.

FZ6 with a power comander exhaust and tuned properly is pretty good on acceleration.

Never had a problem keeping up with any one.

Its a great all around swiss army bike.
