***Intro to Digital Photography Class*** - February 24, 2011, 04:06 PM

A lot of you have been asking for it so here you go.

Cliff Owen (Newzpix) will be teaching an Intro to Digital Photography Class again. A bunch of members of this site have taken this class in the past and while I can not speak for everybody it changed the way I looked at photography. 6 prior students of this class have been published in the last year. For those that are not familiar with Cliffs work take a look at his website and judge for yourself. www.cliffowen.net

The class will cover the basics of composition, Camera settings, Understanding those settings, along with much more.

Location: Old Town Alexandria (Exact Address TBD)

Time: 7-9pm

Day: Tuesday

Starts: March 8th 2011

Cost: $300

Students will be required to have a working DSLR camera that they will be able to use during the course of the class. Students will also have to be able to email pictures for assignments.

At $300 this class is a bargain. I have looked at taking many classes that cost more for less. I have taken this class and it did wonders for my portfolio and ability to make pictures.

Payment in full is due before March 3rd 2011 in order to take the class. There must be 10 students for the class to be held. If registration is not meet full refund will be given. Pay Pal payments to cliff@cliffowen.net

See you guys in class!

Hi, thanks for expressing an interest in my class. I am a DC based photojournalist and Pulitzer Finalist. I don't teach shortcuts or Photoshop tricks. I do teach you the basics which will give you a solid foundation on which to explore and refine your mind's eye.

The class is 7 weeks.

There will be an assignment to complete during the week.

We will have a class critique of your photos from the assignments.

You don't need much gear, a DSLR camera and lens that you can control the ISO, shutter speed and aperture manually.

Payment can be made in cash at the 1st class or by PayPal.

Questions: email me @ info@cliffowen.net

My wife has a good eye but is technologically impaired. Hoe accessible is your class? She took one at some art place in leesburg and had trouble.

A lot of people have at and drank coffee and chatted with Cliff in the past. He rides a BMW (or at least he used to, haven't seen him in years) and is probably one of the easiest people I've ever met to get along with.

He is clear, poignant and easy to understand and had decades of professional experience in photography. I would say that this, alone, would probably make him a far better teacher than at that art place in Leesburg... not trying to take anything away from them, but Cliff is uber pimp with a camera. Hell, just look at how many of his photos have been in the New York Times Lens recently...

Hard to answer this question without having a conversation with her. Can she understand absolute relationships, like if you remove one brick here, you need to add one brick there?
