I have always loved mustangs since i was in elementary school.
That rear suspension concerns me though. Why not independent?

Because change for the sake of change is useless. The car works phenomenally well as is and the 5.0 is a 35k car that can match cars that are 20k more.

Confusing the issue, since before you were ugly.

As the owner of a 2012 5.0 GT, I'd say the rear shouldn't concern you. Everyone loves to talk about the how horrible the back end is, but much like bikes, the car will outperform most drivers.

I like it. Always thought they looked great. Easiest thing to touch without touching the price is the motor. If they decided to touch the suspension and other components to lighten up the vehicle then we'd enter ZR1 territory price wise.

Technically with a little tuning, some race gas, and a full exhaust you should be able to achieve 650/700 rwhp easy. Facking sick!

And to confirm Craig's statement, check this vid. ~$35k (I was 33k out the door, with premium, 19 inch wheels and 3.73 rear diff, few other odds and ends), and you're in the same performance class as an M3.

Should see the gains to be had with a cam swap in the supercharged Chevy motors. Good to see the horsepower wars are still in full effect even with all the "green" regulations. And allegedly the Mustang makes that power without needing the gas guzzler tax.

Anyone notice Ford seems to update the Mustang a lot more often than Chevy does their stuff?

The Ford platform was due for some improvements and thank goodness they went back to the 5.0 platform...albeit overhead cam.

Biggest issue with Mustangs and the reason they are typically a bit slower than the GM equivalents (not any longer) is weight.
