nice

they didn't talk much about the traction control etc

I remember last year there was a shootout comparing the z06 or zr1 with a shelby and a GTR. The one thing they made a big point about was how powerful the vette was and how well it does in turns. They also said if you aren't a good driver you're going to get beat up in the cockpit and have potential to lose control without the electronic assistance.

Maybe this model has addressed that.

I love vettes and their underdog, low budget, hi performance supercar killer abilities. MURRICA!

Not too shabby.
Not the most refined car, and I still haven't fully warmed up to the new exterior design, but certainly the best value for performance dollar around.

Impressive that the engineers can continue to get emissions meeting levels of high performance from design architecture that's over 50 years old.

It is a sick price for all the machinery you get and honestly the only American car I'd consider buying at this point. It's exciting times as far as the horsepower wars go though.

I think we are looking at the last years of this sort of all-engine Arm's Race.

Dodge's Hellcat twins are at 700hp. The Viper ACR already is in the 600s. Ford's old Mustang GT500 I think was at 550 but will probably respond with a bump.

I can't see this going on for much longer before someone jumps in and cancels all the fun.

Truth. I'm worried about the same thing for motorcycles too. Lots of high hp beasts coming out in 2015.

Yeah, these cars are posting quarter mile times on the heals of a lot of sportbikes (with higher top speeds). I vote that all sportbikes have at least 200 whp...

Make them lighter.
Less HP needed, more go!

Do want.

I've got an LS3 powered 4 door Chevy and right around the same instant I put it to the floor I decided that I'll need a ZO6 in my life sooner than later. I'm just waiting on my mid-life crisis.

true. But the price difference is HUGE. I can easily afford a new hyperbike (top of the line Ducati and the new turbo Kawi excluded). A new z06 is going to take some rearranging of funds. Doable... but not a "on a whim purchase" like a new bike would be.

Then again... That's just me.

Maybe if you didnt act like a knucklehead trying to goat them into a run maybe they would race you. Act humble and say you just wanna have fun.
