But damnit there is some great things too.

I can't find the link right now, but you should see the one with the little girl who gets a cochlear implant and hears for the first time. She was probably about 4

Eyes watered RIGHT up, they did.

Husband's first words when they get home:
"Can I put it in your butt tonight?"

Nah, this is pretty cool stuff. When I was a kid I had poor hearing.
I have a hole in my left eardrum so I don't register certain frequencies.
Add to that constant ear infections to the point they surgically install drainage tubes in my ear.

My parents thought I was going deaf. I spent a better part of 2 years going back and forth to ear doctors and taking hearing test.

I was this <...> close to being a candidate for a hearing aid and may even need one a little further down the road, so hearing technology advancements always pique my interest.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527

Same here. Still have a whole in one of my ears. That along with loud explosions with in arms length of my left ear and years of working on race cars has real taken a toll on my already bad hearing.
