If I remember correctly, the jackass with bomb around his neck was an accomplice and was supposed to say that 3 black guys kidnapped and forced him to rob the bank.
His partners double crossed him though.

Yeah, I actually didnt know that until I read up on the incident yesterday. Totally different feeling about this movie now that I know dumb-dumb was part of the whole deal.
