Adobe CS2 Creative Suite Free to All From Adobe - January 22, 2013, 01:53 PM

It's an older version of the PS & Acrobat Suite but the tools are more than useful for the occasional / home user, and you cannot beat freeware.

To think, when this was released the entire suite license cost was somewhere between $1,500-$1,800.

This is why.

You may have seen rumours on the internet in recent days that Adobe is making available copies of its older Create Suite 2 available for free.
The rumours is, in fact, true. Head to Adobe - CS2 Downloads and there are download links for Photoshop CS2, Acrobat 8, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition and more. Along with serial numbers, ready for you to install.
The software isn't exactly cutting-edge, as it was released in 2005. But it still represents a bit of a bargain, so what's up?
The official explanation from Adobe is that, in December 2012, it shut down the servers that handled product activation requests for CS2. Following complaints from existing customers who needed to reinstall their paid-for copies of CS2 but were unable to activate them, Adobe then released the downloads and serial numbers. In a subsequent posting on its forum, it clarified the issue, and stated categorically that the software was only for those who already owned CS2 licences and certainly wasn't to be regarded as freeware.
However, in the past few days the software has been downloaded by tens of thousands of people, and the aforementioned forum posting has actually been removed. So make of this what you will, and download the software at your own risk.

Dafuq?
So, it's not Freeware - but it is not secured at all by Adobe and they are giving away the keys.
Yeah, ok. Sounds like Freeware to me.

Yeah, screw it. If you're gonna steal their "free" copy which they say is only for valid license holders, then you might as well steal CS6.

Same thing.

In all honesty I did not know if was not "Freeware" until David posted the story.

Sure there are plenty of ways to get free software - IRC, Torrents, etc. but I know Clemson, as a developer himself, has very strong feelings about pirated software on the board - rightfully so of course, as it should be for all - and I did not want to fall under the Ban Hammer.

So much for that. And let that be a lesson to all about doing the right thing.

No, You Can't Download Adobe CS2 Applications For Free - Forbes

Not exactly free as someone has already noted.
