Arrow Aleethia Foundation needs your help! Vote today... and help an injured service member - June 15, 2011, 01:25 PM

Please vote NOW for the Aleethia Foundation! It takes 5 minutes and will help Aleethia win a new Toyota. YOU can make a difference for those wounded and serving our country.

Aleethia Foundation, a small 501c3 all volunteer organization, supports the newly injured service members recovering at local military hospitals. Our mission is to support these patients with short term therapeutic recreation. Doctors have determined that it is beneficial for the newly injured service members to get out of the hospital occasionally. Since October 2003, Aleethia has provided Friday Night Dinners. The patients and family members are invited to a dinner held in private rooms of upscale restaurants. Since all attendees are patients or family members of patients, they can learn to adapt to physical changes without feeling uncomfortable through this healing and learning process.

How Aleethia will use a new Toyota:
Aleethia’s main focus is on the newly injured service members. It is not uncommon for a patient to need to go back to the hospital early during the Friday Night Dinners. This Toyota vehicle will provide wheelchair accessible transportation for injured service members. They have very sensitive injuries and a smaller vehicle would have better suspension than the bus and make this a more comfortable ride. There are numerous occasions when a patient needs transportation to other events. We could provide that transportation with this vehicle and a volunteer driver. It will be a helpful, cost effective way for us to further assist newly wounded, injured and ill service members. The Aleethia Foundation
