It's reported that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is done with mixed martial arts fighting and the UFC!

Well, that explains why he backed out of the fight with Rashad... I guess it does kinda suck for Dana White that he'd planned on 11 weeks of rival teachers in the Ultimate Fighter and now that's all for naught.

Smart man. Make your money, and fame. Get out before your brains are completely mashed to soup and your body absolutely broken down.

Hopefully he has enough money ferreted away. MMA is a relatively new sport, but the old guys aren't nearly as damaged as boxers who get pummeled time and time again even when they win. He had a few fights left in him, but I wonder where he might be at mentally. After he lost his belt there was some strange episode of him leading a high speed chase that was a bit bizarre.

IMO if he's banking on a movie career I don't see it happening... he's going to be in a movie playing a character from an old TV show. After that he either comes crawling back (Tito Ortiz) or he flops around in the minor league orgs. I suppose this is what Jason Ellis was mentioning Rampage on his show this evening. Its his choice, but business wise it probably isn't the best, IMO that is.

Well, he got offered extra cash to lose by submission to Sakuraba in Pride. so hey. maybe he was part of the *multiple worked fights* over there and got a few extra $$'s piled away. I'll guess not hah.

I talked to Rampage on the phone in Sept of '04.. His cel # had gotten posted on sherdog.. he never seemed to answer it, we found it funny.. so called it form time to time.

I was on business from CA.. staying at the doubletree in crystal city actually.. called him up.. he actually answers the damn phone.. asks me what I want as a treat for Halloween. I told him to slam Wanderlei through the mat.

That didn't work out so good for him hah.

Overall he's a moron.. fasting for 5 days before the Wandy fight because "god told him to".. then driving a truck through LA crashing into cars.. now this.

Good riddance *shrug*

*sigh*

Rampage is set to play B.A. Baracus in the new A-Team movie, so maybe he's trying to switch over to acting? Actually looking at his IMDB page looks like he's in quite a few movies coming out.

I say he is better off being in movies than fighting.

Dana White handled it very poorly. Dana White looks like a complete selfish manipulative jackass.

He was a great fighter, but with the way UFC has been getting handled lately, I think he is just the first of many to soon go.
