Put in your max bid (the max you are willing to pay) and forget it. If you get outbid, then who cares, since you weren't willing to pay that much.

Waiting until the last minute will do you no good if someone has a max bid already entered equal to or greater than yours.

also, choose random numbers for your max bid for example, instead of 100, use 103.5, chances are most people use nice round numbers for bid amounts...so depending on the increment you can lose even though you have the same max bid depending where it started. Also, its cheap (in this case 3.50) to do somewhat better

I know what I'm willing to pay and I stick to it. Plus I bid at the last second so that someone else can't change their mind at the last second and add to their bid. It also keeps me from paying more than I really want to.

Thanks for the reminder too. I have something I need to bid on tonight. Only problem with my strategy is that I have forgotten about some auctions and never got a bid in, a bid that would've won.

I usually dont bid until it's ending, statistically prices are MUCH lower on Sunday ending auctions.

also good if you are the seller to have an auction ending between 7 and 9pm (perferably closer to 9) on a tuesday or wed. (more people are at home nation wide at 9pm EST/EDT on those days

Oddball price and multiple windows to drop another higher oddball bid a second or two later to throw people (one guy sent messages cursing me out for that one), all in the last 30 or less seconds of the auction.

Some people are only alive because it is illegal to shoot them.
