or is the new "lingo" rediculous...

"Minute" - Now being used to describe a long period of time
as in:
"I haven't seen you in a minute."
or
"It's been a minute since I've done that."

Whip - Describes a vehicle, usually as impressive or in a positive light
as in:
"Nice whip man!"
or
"I now own a 05 WhipRR and a dodge Whip." *grin*

I know there are more and every time I hear them I cringe at the total internecion of our, already non-descript, english language.

Heh how about these:

Word - Used to affirm something
as in:
Person 1 "I need a new car, mine is a piece of shit"
Person 2 "word"

Snap - An alarmed reaction to something
as in:
"snap, I forgot my keys"
or
Person 1 "Someone just tipped your bike over and is taking a piss on it"
Person 2 "Oh, snap!"

doesn't w(h)ip stand for "work in progress"?

I sometimes say "word" because it's funny. It was stupid back in the early 90s. That makes it even more kitschy today.

I watched the carson daily show once, I think he used every "cool" word.
I might have actually thrown up in my mouth a little.

That's a wierd feeling, to laugh and puke at the same time.

The thing I find frustrating is the dichotomy of meanings...

If someone says they will be "there in a minute" what do they really mean? We are purposely destroying the concise nature of language in order to sound ambiguous and enigmatic.
