ANTS............Argh - August 12, 2011, 08:30 PM

So i got some small ass ants in my house...These arent like what im used to...

In FL i had them bad but you just had to keep stuff off counter dispose of trash and keep everything (bread sugar etc) in the fridge...problem solved...

However i just started noticing these fuckers in the living room, they arent going for any sort of food source...i just randomly will get one on me if im laying on the floor(next to sliding glass door)..

Just dont know what to do? i looked outside didnt notice any silicone or anything...and its not like they are in a huge pack..but i did notice 1 time i left my computer on the floor and the bastards infiltrated it...about 20 or so...

any suggestions? do they make like pet safe ant bombs?

I've had good luck with the cheapy little traps, just wear some gloves when you take them out of the box because there's an old wives tale I think that they can smell if you've held them.

I doubt it's true, but at this point its more a superstition thing than anything else and I'm not trying to end my luck spree haha

I had them on my boat.. couldn't get ride of them with any traps (bought like 4 different types) Finally found the nest and sprayed it... no more problem there.. Now they are starting to show up in the house, no luck locating a nest, but I read if you mix boric acid with something sweet, it should do the trick:

Boric Acid works on just about everything.
Make sure no pets and children have access to it or touch it.
I have four dogs never had an issue. Put it inside any cracks or place of travel that ants are using as long as the dogs wont get to it.

Ants will only come for a food source. There's got to be something they're after - food, sugar, other bugs, etc.

This product is absolutely amazing - works everytime, takes about 1-2 weeks.
At first youll notice an increase in ants then a decrease as the product is brought back to the nest.

Put it out when the dogs are put up for the night or put it up on something where they can't get to it.

It works. We put ours on the kitchen counter-top. They were gone in like 3 days.

Resist the urge to kill them when you see them swarm. They are bringing the poison back to the nest.
