Any 4 Wheel Off Road guys? Need Help - July 15, 2015, 06:10 PM

So I bought a Ford ranger a few years ago as a track day hauler, for pretty cheap. Guy had a 6" lift on there. I know nothing about lift kits etc.

Recently the shock mounts went bad, I need to replace it but I dont know exactly what is on there. I took the shocks off and found the numbers below:

31851 CE16704
X189D2

I went to autozone and measured the difference between the stock shock fully expanded and mine, and there was about a 5.5" difference.

Any idea who makes 5.5" shocks for a 98 Ford Ranger? Any recommendations? Im not too concerned with off roading it, I mainly use it to get back and forth from the track really.

Most truck shocks are pretty universal. Measure them eye to eye collapsed and extended then go shopping.

Try this link http://www.summitracing.com/search/d...rder=Ascending

If that works, then on the left side pick the extended and collapsed lengths you need and it will show you what is available. It doesn't have to match exactly, just get as close as you can.
