I am not a family law attorney, but I figured I would try to provide some help. First, you need to specify in which jurisdiction the lawyer needs to be licensed: Maryland, D.C., Virgina, etc. Second, you can check out this website for references to family law attorneys in this area: http://www.washingtonian.com/article...bying/199.html. Some of these attorneys are pricey, but they may provide you with a free consultation. They may also be able to refer you to other attorneys.

Good luck in your search!

I don't know of any child custody attorneys. Frankly, I'd be a little leery of hiring one. They may be prodigies and all that but I don't want to have to deal with their parents telling them to clean their room instead of working my case.

I just have some questions about child custody; I don't need to hire an attorney. Figured this might be a good place to find one.

Try to resolve it peacefully. Being ruthless is just a power game. I've seen/heard of it too many times. In the end sometime you just need to suck up the crap so your doesn't have too.

But that doesn't mean rolling over like a beyotch either. Sometimes it IS in the kids best interest to fight. You have to be the one deciding that issue.

Just my $0.02.

I admire smart children who are reared properly and advance faster than others in school. While it's a fantastic achievement to become a legal professional before the age of 18, I'm not convinced that a child will have the credibility you will need in a courtroom for a custody battle. Sure, in a jury trial, a youngster may win favor for the cute factor alone, but it isn't likely they'll prevail in a heated debate. Please reconsider... I believe you'll do better to hire an adult attorney.
