Any climbers out there? - February 27, 2009, 11:15 AM

I've been climbing a lot more than riding lately. Anyone on the site that wants to go outside when the whether permits?

I climb TR, sport and trad so whatever floats your boat. Would like to do a trip to annapolis rocks before too long. Also try to hit up seneca a few times before moving away in the summer.

Just pm me if you're interested.

Never been climbing before but wouldn't mind trying it. If you're ever bored and feel like teaching a n00b climber, let me know

Me and my buddies go out to the Billy Goat Trail if yall know that. Its on the Potomac River trail near Great Falls. We finally got ropes but for a while we were just doing it "free". Doing 40 foot cliff jumps into the river is a lotta fun.

"when the weather permits". Its not bad climbing if you got some warm but thin/light gear on.

Note, I didn't mean to mislead anyone, Billy Goat Trail is more "bouldering" than climbing. But there a good amount of areas we haven't tried because we didn't have any gear, any none us had health insurance. Cool thing about it is its not too far from me if I take River Road, and not far from Betheda/Potomac/Nova

I've only real rock climbed once in my life and it was like 12 years ago, I've climbed at Xsport a couple of times in the past year... I'd be in if timing is right

Hey Desmo, I am usually at sportrock 3-4 times a week with couple of friends and we're usually up for any weekend climbing around here or near by (Great falls, Seneca as well as New river, weather permitting), send me a PM if you're around here and interested in joining us.

I love climbing, but really know nothing about it.

When I was 15 I fell from the top of Devils Den at Gettyburg. Nothing major, maybe 25-30feet. Landed upside down on the back of my neck, and basically ate my stomach. Bounced down another 4 ft drop.

Somehow got up and walked away. Still don't know how I managed that...

There's a boatload of great climbing out here, which I like to explore one day with someone experienced.

Right up the 1 hole.
