Any experience with Government Vacation Rewards? - December 4, 2012, 12:33 AM

Does anybody here have any experience with Government Vacation Rewards?

My wife walks by their sales people all the time and she's getting interested in it but I can't find any positive reviews about their services at all. You would think they are associated with the gov't or MWR but I can't find any confirmation of that. All I find are complaints. It on those boards where people with an obviously bad experience go to complain. Can't find any balanced feedback. So I'm hoping someone here can shed some light.

My wife tells me that they have a program of like $120 a month for the first year and after that only $40 per year. Gives you points and great discounts and all. But when I went to their web site it sounds like their services are FREE! So now I'm confused. Maybe she's forgetting the name of the company and I'm looking into something different.. But apparently she crosses these people regularly either at he Hoffman Bldg or at the Pentagon so I dunno. (She's sleeping now so I can't ask her.)

No experience with them, but I hope that $120 a month for the first year is a typo.

^^^ It's not. I'm guessing that it's basically like a Vacation Club with points. Kind of today's version of timeshares where you use points instead of weeks. Those vacay clubs are usually in the thousands just like timeshares.

Problem is that I can do research on almost any timeshare/vacay club. But can't find anything on these guys. And it's odd that they market themselves as partnering with the MWR.
