Any Fairfax County LEOs still on here? - September 17, 2008, 07:27 AM

I could use some advice/help, woke up this morning to a stripped car and still waiting for them to call me back or send someone out. Didn't sound likely that they'd send anyone out.

I'll stay on here since I'm not heading into work, so just PM if you have any advice or can help.

Call them again and get the case number or the unit number that is responding. 703-691-2131 and let them know your address not just the area where you live.

Just got a call back and someone should be out soon hopefully. Once I mentioned the $$ of parts involved they said they'd send someone out.

Not sure how the motor/suspension/etc. will be but all 4 wheels/tires and the whole interior is gone.

BTW if anyone knows much about insurance I'll have to figure that out next, I have full coverage but haven't had to deal with it (theft) before.

Chances are they will only cover the car not any upgrades or stereo type stuff. As for that stuff you will have to contact your Renters/Home owners.

Update, I haven't been by the PC because an officer did come out. He took a report and fingerprinted etc. Trying to deal with the insurance side of things now...

Depends... if you can prove (ie solid mounting points, bolted in etc...) that your equipment was "part" of the car, you have a chance... incedentals like CDs and other loose items will not be covered by auto. Trust me, been there done that... lost about 10K worth or parts and items from a car theft about 8 years ago.

Just had to deal with this as well with my girls car. They broke into it right infront of our house two weeks ago. Your insurance will not go up since its a theft issue covered under your comprehensive so it should only run you $100. Also, if any items were bolted onto the dash they are covered. If they weren't your home owners should cover it as long as it was in your property, such as the driveway. At least that's how it worked out for us. Good luck man. I know how it feels. I look out my window every night, ten times a night, just to see if there is anybody to shoot.
