Post Any money experts? (Debt Consolidation, etc) - February 25, 2007, 08:47 AM

I'm considering consolidating my debt but don't really understand a lot of this money "stuff"

I'd like to speak with someone who knows what they're talking about and can give me sound advice. I've tried talking with some companies but they just want my money.

If you don't mind helping me out please post a reply and I'll PM you with the details.

Does 10 years in the loan business and 33 years as a Christian (not just in name only; gotta walk the talk to be real) qualify ? Call me any time. If I can help, I will..

Quick piece of advice I've learned...Be careful in how you consolodate debt. The wife and I refinanced a year or so after we bought our condo (when interest rates were still REAL low) so that we could go from a 3/1 ARM to a 30-Year Fixed. Took out some money, paid off the credit cards, and BAM, thought we were good. Unfortunately, the credit cards went back up and now we're paying those off again.

So if you take out money in your equity to pay off your credit, just be sure to severely limit yourself on credit card purchases...Or you'll have twice the debt you used to! Wifey and I are working all the debt out now at our own pace and we've had a few "talks" about overspending.
