Any Ska fans? - March 2, 2009, 03:03 PM

I recently started listening to a lot of ska latley after a hiatus (was into more pop-punk and underground hiphop for a few years). Anyone else into ska? Ska is so dang happy and uplifting, the horns with punk everything else sounds so good. Miss all the old ska shows to. Catch-22, Less Than Jake, Mustard Plug, Streetlight Manifesto, Mad Caddies, Link 80, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Edna's Goldfish. I know there is www.dcska.com to for local shows. I'd love to actually learnt he guitar someday while I'm young and do something. Any other ska fans?

haha Voodoo Glow Skulls hell yeah! I gotta admit I'm more into ther punk-ska then the true ska. Seen the Piestasters a couple of times in OC though, pretty rockin. Forgot about Five Iron Frenzy! Did any of yall ever go to those church shows in College Park? Can't remember the name but there were a lot of shows when I was in Middle school/High school (1999-2004ish). I got beat up by Voodoo Glow Skulls entourage at that church.

I'm still into it.... sort of by default.

I used to play drums in a Baltimore Ska band known as The Smooths and I currently play from time to time with a DC Ska band known as The Pietasters.
