Is that a planet ocean in the lower left? I'm not a watch geek but really like the looks of it; have been wanting to get one for a while but just havne't pulled the trigger.

Yup, that is a Planet Ocean on a vintage Omega mesh bracelet. That's another Sea Master Pro right next to it.

Blur - What kind of winder case is that? Me likes.
Cripes - Congrats on the new Panerai

Didn't know there was any other watch heads on here. My collection is really small. Had to sell a few last year.

BTW - TAG Heuer is trying hard to rebuild it's image - which in the past couple decades degenerated into a level just above a "department store" watch brand.
They're debuting a new MECHANICAL watch that can time to 1/1000 of a second It runs at 3,600,000 beats per hour (1000 beats per second!!).

Most mechanical watches beat at 28,800 bph, or 8 beats per second. Look at the central second hand spinning wildly on the video link below.

Baselworld started the other day - the watch nut equivalent of Detroit/Tokyo/Paris/Frankfurt car shows all put together - are many are intrigued by this watch. I'm still in love with the Monaco V4. A belt and pulley driven watch.

The big trends are (finally) less blingy, thinner and/or smaller watches and bronze cases this year, the latter which can be allowed to patina over time but there are some cool ways to make it happen in a matter of hours!

No more big faced chucks of alloy on the wrist which is good for me since I have smaller wrists and it looked moronic.

Some Baselworld 2011 eye candy:

The winder is a Wolf Designs similar to this one Wolf Designs 456902 Module 2.7 8PC Watch Winder with Cover
Mine is the previous generation version.
Tag makes a decent watch though as you mentioned lost their way since the late 70's. They have made a few decent watches over the last 10 years. I used to have a Tag Monza that used the Zenith El Primero movement and I loved that watch. Here is a pic of one that I found on google images.

Very nice! Definitely see the SMP, and Pepsi GMT. Mesh bracelet on the PO made me think Breitling SOH at first. That an IWC above and a Hamilton to the right of the SMP?

Love my SMP, but it's gotten no love since I picked up a Breitling SO Steelefish last fall. Picked up the 111 a few weeks ago, and haven't worn anything else since.

F! You guys are going to make me cruise the TZ sales corner now. I've had this itch for an IWC Aquatimer that I'm going to have to scratch sometime (love me some dive watches).

One day when I make sick money, I'm getting one of these as the centerpiece of my collection.

I'll wait for it to go on sale at Wal-Mart.
