Anyone done jury duty in Loudoun? - April 10, 2013, 06:20 PM

How many jurors per group?

I get to report tomorrow. I'm in the second to last group, so they may fill the jury before they get to me. Only one jury trial scheduled for the day, and only for three hours. So it wouldn't be too bad if I was selected. The case is for carrying a concealed weapon.

About 32 people showed up. They called the first 15 of us by alphabetical order us into the courtroom. I was the last of these. One of the questions was who owns guns. A third of us raised our hands. The defendant was representing himself. After he and the CA scratched off who they didn't want, they picked the first 7. So the rest of us left. And I was able to begin my vacation.

He was found guilty. $750 fine, $1091 costs

Whats the average time between jury duty? Dosent it average out to every 10 years or so? Last time I was on a jury was about 7 or 8 years ago. What killed me was the $5 voucher they gave you for food, but the craptastic food in the cafeteria started at $10, and you only had like 10 min to eat.

Its a long time, i forget the number. I got a summons 2 or 3 years ago i think... I just remember it felt funny reporting for jury duty so soon after my own reckless driving court appearance
