CYCLISTS Anyone down for hitting up the WO&D tomorrow??? - March 6, 2010, 05:40 PM

Nina and I just picked up a pair of bikes. My R6 is still in the shop so I'm going to ride out on the new wheels and put a few miles in on the WO&D. If you are down for some exercise and want to join in post up or just show up. I'll be at the Spokes in Vienna at 10:30 AM , kickstands up at 11:00 and we will head towards the Reston Town Center. Not sure but I will assume since its my first time on this bike my pace will be easy.

Ok well looks like the weather is golden so we are heading out. Going to ride to Reston and back. I'll be at Spokes in about 30 minutes.

Good on Ya for posting this thread. Can't make it today but would be happy to join you sometime. Both my bikes are mountain bikes though...was thinking about maybe putting road tires and gearing on one but can usually hang with all but the hardcore/streamlined/fruit-suit wearing speedsters that aren't really supposed to rocket down the w&od anyway.

Nice little ride. Windy. Good day to be in the aero position. Man I'm fat and lazy.

I have a set I used on my MB that I'll sell cheap. Now that I have a road bike I'll never use them again.

Windy on the way out but the ride back was nice. Nina had a close call but pulled the run off back in and dodged an unsupervised child who was flailing about on the trail. Saw a pretty good size pack of deer (20 or so) they ran the trail and down the side lines for about a mile before dipping out. Pretty cool to experience that. Hopefull we can up the pace on the next run. If not I'll tell her to get about a 15 minute head start on us. Hopefully we can round up some more troops and keep the rides going.
