Anyone hiring for IT positions? - April 4, 2009, 10:20 PM

At the moment I'm working at a job with no opportunities for advancement, so I think it's time for a change.

...and yes, I have my resume plastered all over dice, monster, hotjobs, usajobs, chart and more recently, the army.

BAE Systems is. I know they're hiring. Good company with good benefits. Been with them for about 2 years now.

I can put in a referral for you for any job you see that you're interested in. Just send me the job # and your resume. I've referred 2 people to the company so far.

Or apply yourself if you prefer!

Best of luck!

just remember....if the company you go to work for has layoffs - you'll be the easiest target!

Man, that is some good advice right there. It hits home too. I've thought about shuffling around lately, but I've gone a long ways towards making myself indispensable at my current gig.

That being said, money talks.

You haven't listed your skillset.

If you are a programmer in the DC area...the market is still pretty good. I know this because of the difficulty my group had in finding decent people to fill programming positions. Many of the applicants we got looked ok on paper but were....less so in person. Good people get snapped up fast. More jobs than people in this region.

That being said....maybe try jumping inside your company first.

Seijirou- I applied at BAE systems last week for a number of jobs. I'll try to find the job # and PM you.

MudDawg- I thought about that this morning. I dod a little programing, however most of my job would be considered System Administrator.

Senate Sergeant at Arms has a few things just released this month...

-A couple low-end accounting positions
-Desktop LAN Support
-Newtork Engineer (2)
-User Experience Architect (I have no idea what that even is - I assume designing internal apps etc...)

Let me know I can pass along an application as well as the PD
