ArRrR6's bike was recovered!! - February 3, 2007, 04:28 PM

Yes that's right my bike was found by me at 1pm. I went to go pick up an air-filter for the car and I wanted to shoot the hoops for awhile, it was cold as fuck outside so I headed home I took the backway near where we live. I saw a Red bike I was like "damm he must be a trooper to be riding". But NO!!! it was my fing bike. YES!!! I found my bike so I called the local po-po, took them almost 3 hours to get to where the bike was located. The officer was very sorry that it took so long. I had to wait for the photo guy to take pics of the bike. He also needed to verify that it was my bike. The officer was shocked that the bike was not dropped or "stripped" for parts. Some bad news though. The shifter is bent, and the chain is rusty and last the battery is dead. Anyone know if this will be pricey to fix? Thanks Sober for letting me borrow the tie downs. And G-dogg thanks for the help I was just going to take the bike back. Here are some pics of the bike in its condition. Good luck to all that still have your bikes missing. I am taking this bike and putting it up for the winter.

CONGRATS! You are one of the FEW people who EVER see their bike again, let alone in that good of condition!!!

#1) 520 chain and if you don't do top end runs go -1 up front!

#2) I just scored a stock footpeg (entire assembly, shifter, etc) both sides $75 shipped from a zx12 guy online. Hit up the yammie sites (r6messagenet) and ask, lotsa guys have their stock crap left over since they throw on rearsets for track days. I will say newer stuff is kinda chintzy and breaks easier due to being lighter....if you are on a budget I'd go with the stockers but rearsets are usually stronger and allow for multiadjustment (although I rarely here R6 guys talk about lack of cornering clearance, those bikes love to leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean)

So i get this call from ArRrR6 while I'm at work and he tells me about this bike that looks like his. Then he says "It has the same license plate too". I was like "WTF". He told me he called the Sheriff's office and they are on the way. I told him "DO NOT TOUCH THE BIKE!!!" and wait for them to arrive and keep and eye on it until they come. It wasn't likely that the thief would come back but hey, give it a shot. I coach a game and get back to work and call him back. Yep, it was his bike and someone in the complex took it.

Dude, I am soooooo glad you got back your whip. Also glad you followed my advice and waited. You are one lucky man. You have minor damage and it can be fixed via EBAY or the like. Can't wait to see you rolling this season. Get back to me later on and lock the SumBitch UP in a garage!!!

Congrats!

Chain should only be around 100 and you can find a rear set for about 60. I picked up two brand new rear sets for $80 of Ebay.

Hopefully they'll find the tool who stole your bike. And hey, they even left you a week supply of chicken strips too
