Although I appreciate it, I still believe it should be owner's choice

Va. Assembly Gives Final Approval to Smoking Ban

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...021901904.html

Quote:
RICHMOND, Feb. 19 -- The Virginia General Assembly gave its final approval Thursday to legislation that bans smoking in most of the state's bars and restaurants, representing a critical victory for Gov. Timothy M. Kaine (D) and a significant political and cultural shift for a state whose history has been intertwined with tobacco for centuries.

Sorry man but even though that may be it's just as easy to go outside. I smoked and lived in Maryland when they passed their ban. It was no big deal. You may even save yourself some money by not smoking as much. Think of the bartender having to inhale that shit all night.

I think they should have dealt with this by enforcing better HVAC air circulation systems.

I don't smoke any more, but I don't think you should legislate everything. People die from chips. Heart disease from poor diet kills many more Americans than first hand and second hand smoke combined.

First paragraph is misldeading.. just going to be a little construction to make you non-smokers happier.. they'll box in the bar and keep the kiddies out in the high chairs..

"Their ban covers most restaurants and bars, but permits smoking in private clubs and in establishments that construct separately ventilated enclosed smoking rooms for patrons."

Takes money to enforce right? How soon do you actually think this will happen?? Read somewhere it won't be official until Dec 1st.. plenty of time to get them in
