Baby Mama Goes Nuts: Who is wrong? - August 22, 2013, 10:58 AM

Skateboarder Runs into Child, Angry Mom Punches Him in the Face | Bleacher Report

This is an interesting case. First couple of times I watched the video, I raged against the ghetto baby mama. A few minutes later though I realized that the skater was in a public place, not a skate park. Now I know that slugging someone is never justified, and we can all agree that baby mama is by no means a class act. However, the skater bears some responsibility here too. You can't just cruise along at 10-15 mph among pedestrians with your head down and expect everyone to stay out of your way.

By the way, I linked to the write-up and not the youtube video directly for this reason. Linking directly to the video requires that you sign in to youtube to view it. The embedded video on another site plays no matter what though. Thought that was an interesting loophole for the "mature audiences" restriction.

I like how she did not care at all about her son did not even bother to check to see if he needed medical.

Skater was in the wrong for running into the kid and possibly for skating where he should not have been.

Ghetto lady just wanted to fight, I think she should count her lucky stars that she did not end up with a mouth full of skateboard.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

The article says that it was a skatepark, but it doesn't look like it. There are people just walking around in the background.

The skater obviously felt bad about it.

Shared responsibility. He was directly outside entrance to the skate park, while skating is not permitted there, it is reasonable to assume that people using it will be coming in and out and skateboarders are going to be around.
It appeared as if no one was directly watching the child though it looks like family was around.

Bowls and rails can be seen in the background. Someone went to the trouble on the CNN page to make this video of where everything occurred... skater punched by kid's mom - YouTube

Look at the big kinked rail in the background, it's a skatepark

As a skater this pisses me off. It's no place to let a little kid run around. It's very fucking dangerous. There's boards, bikes, and humans flying unpredictably all day.

She should punch herself in the face

If that was my kid I would have been pretty upset that he just got wrecked. I also would have apologized to the skater and made sure he was alright after checking my son for any injuries.

If I was the skater, it would have been very difficult to not plant a truck in the side of that woman's head.

Gotta say, the mom is wayyyyy in the wrong. The skater was just outside the main skatepark area but being that close to the skate park it is reasonable to expect bikes/boards/bodies to be moving at a high rate of speed.

Child that small should be surpervised. The skater bears some responsibility but the mother should be checking her child first and worrying about punching someone later. If she stopped to check her kid she would see he was probably more shook up than actually hurt.

Its like taking your kid to a trackday.....even if your in the pits there needs to be a heightened level of awareness since there are bikes exiting/entering the track constantly. Just because the track is a more controlled environment than regular roads it does not remove the need for care by everyone there.

Should have been a shared responsibility situation.....some apologies......lesson learned for the kid and the skater......move on with your day.

Also jealous that nowadays there are designated built skate parks every damn where. When I skated we had to build it ourselves or skate street. Damn young whippersnappers!!!!

Ghetto is as ghetto does. She dissapoint that this is on Youtube and not WSHH...

It's an accident, dude apologizes. Kid is crying a scared cry not a pain cry...

Mom is just as responsible, if not more, for not watching her kid.

People like her is what's wrong with America.
Kid was just shown that the way you deal with someone who apologizes is to smack them or cap them. Lots of future fail there.

Mom should get charged. It was an accident where both the kid and skater were at fault. It wasn't like the kid was standing still and was run into. Kids and their lack of peripheral vision sometimes (and parental supervision).. ugh.

One of these days, she'll probably run into someone who will sock her back.
