I don't think this will be a suitable birthday present for your wife.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

I havent had mine for that long but Im in the same boat. Plus I dont see much of a bennifit to watching a movie filmed in the 80s on blue ray. Most of the enhancements produce odd lines, and a layered feeling.

I don't know about that....go pick up a copy of Blazing Saddles on blu-ray and you will see how much better it looks. I almost didn't like it because of the clarity on it. Got rid of the old nostaligic, rustic look to it.

Ive seen it, and honestly I like my regular DVD version much, much better. I hate the layered feeling and over exposed colors produced by upconverting.

Blazing Saddles could be touchy for me though, its probably my all time favorite movie which probably makes me resistant to change.
